Choosing packs, boxes and single cards — collector guide

Choosing packs, boxes and single cards — collector guide

A good starting point is deciding whether you want the surprise of a sealed pack or a specific card for your collection. Before ordering, compare the format, language and contents described on the product page.

Start with the format

A booster pack contains an assortment of cards. The exact cards remain unknown until the pack is opened. A booster box or collection box is a different product format; check the listing for its pack count, included accessories and any identified promotional cards. Do not assume that every box contains the same number of packs.

A single-card listing is for an identified card. Match the card name, set and card number to the card you are looking for. Product photographs and the written condition description should be read together.

Check the language and edition

Similar artwork can appear in more than one language or release. Confirm whether the listing is Simplified Chinese, English, Japanese or another language. Set names, numbering and packaging help distinguish editions, so use these details alongside the artwork.

Read condition and quantity carefully

  • For sealed products, review the stated packaging condition and what is included.
  • For single cards, review the front, back and any close-up photographs provided.
  • Only rely on a grading claim when the listing explicitly identifies the grading company and grade.
  • Check the selected variant and quantity before adding the item to your cart.

Choose what suits your collection

Explore packs and boxes for sealed products, or browse single cards when you have a particular card in mind. If a product detail is unclear, ask us before ordering.
